Call for submissions

Dear FANHS SF Members,

The Filipino American National Historical Society San Francisco (FANHS SF) Chapter invites you to contribute to the next volume of Filipinos in San Francisco and to our digital archiving efforts.

This project centers the stories, people, places, and movements that have shaped Filipino life in San Francisco—past and present. We welcome submissions from individuals, families, artists, organizers, and community organizations.

For this volume, we are especially seeking historical content from the 1910s through the 1980s related to:
  • Social justice and community organizing
  • ​Artists, performers, and literature/literary voices
  • Historical sites and spaces important to Filipino history in San Francisco

You must submit photographs and share background information about your work, experiences, or community history through our online submission form:

DEADLINE: March 20, 2026

Our goal is to uplift and preserve the many voices that make up our collective history. By sharing your stories, photos, and experiences, you help ensure that the Filipino American community in San Francisco is celebrated and remembered for generations to come.
